Virtualization Remains Central to Cloud Computing

Dedicated Tracks Opens with Cloud Expo at Javits Center in New York

"Virtualization is one of the foundation technologies for cloud computing. While servers and storage are the most fundamental targets of virtualization, the broader scope of virtualization includes desktop virtualization, a changing approach to systems management, and optimization of shared application components in virtualized environments."

Thus wrote Oracle's Chris Barclay as he prepared to lead a session on Virtualization at the Fifth International Cloud Expo in New York.

An entire track is dedicated to Virtualization and all that it entails over the course of the three-day confrerence, which is being held at the Javits Center.

Barclay will be joined by speakers from Intel, Certeon, EMC, and many others, as they examine topics that include dynamic end-user environments, DOM virtualization, aggregaton versus consolidation, database systems, performance issues, and more.
